Creating Blocks

A Block is a "pluggable " piece of content that can be easily substituted, with or without styling, into any page region.

The five types of blocks are all created in the same way. Different block options are selected to determine how the block will be used, but any block may still be plugged into any page region.

  1. Index Blocks
Index Blocks are typically used for creating dynamic navigation menus, site maps, indices, etc.
  2. XML Blocks
An XML block is a reusable piece of content stored as well-formed XML.
  3. XML Feed Blocks
An XML Feed Block is a block whose XML content is pulled from a web location.
  4. XHTML Blocks
An XHTML Block is a great way to reuse content across multiple pages.
  5. Text Block
Text Blocks are used when there is a need to reuse plain text content.
