The Challenge: Outdated Program Information

Reynolds recognized a gap in how program information was presented online. Its static catalog, which was managed through the Acalog system, was uninspiring and difficult to navigate.

Prospective students needed help finding relevant information, limiting their ability to explore academic options. The college wanted a dynamic, user-friendly tool to effectively present program details and guide students in making informed decisions.

The Solution: A Transformative Program Finder

After partnering with Cascade CMS by Hannon Hill, Reynolds saw an opportunity to leverage its flexibility to create a new Program Finder.

The team wanted to integrate career and labor market data for a more comprehensive experience. To achieve this, Reynolds partnered with Hannon Hill’s Professional Services team.

Under the leadership of Web Manager April-Nichole McIntosh, Reynolds meticulously gathered requirements and collaborated with Services to bring the vision to life.

The new Program Finder included:

  • Customizable Search and Filters: Allowing students to easily explore programs by keywords, academic interests, study modes, and program types.
  • Visual Enhancements: Integrating photos and visual content to make the program information more engaging.
  • Lightcast Integration: Providing career and labor market insights linked directly to each program, helping students make informed choices.

 

The Results: Transformative Impact on Student Engagement

Since launching the Program Finder, Reynolds Community College has seen remarkable outcomes:

  • 70% increase in inquiries
  • 17,000+ views across all program pages
  • 2-minute average engagement time per user 

Faculty and students have praised the new tool, noting how it showcases the programs more compellingly.

The enhanced visuals and integrated career data empower students to envision their academic and professional futures.

Looking Ahead: Building on Success

Reynolds isn’t stopping here.

Plans include:

  • Adding more visual content.
  • Refining analytics to measure impact.
  • Exploring new layouts to further enhance the student experience.
